Mary's Knots Ministry at St. Bernadette’s parish consists of a wonderful group of ladies who knit and crochet prayer blankets and shawls for a variety of people—not only parishioners.
My Brother's Keeper Ministry has sewn over 1 ,216 quilts. Each is sewn with a lot of love and compassion and given to the Migrant Ministry farm workers, the homeless, those hospitalized, I and people in need.
The Martha’s Ministry Food Pantry is open three mornings/week 10:00-12:00, Monday, Tuesday Wednesday in the parish kitchen and provides food staples to those experiencing food insufficiency. Donations are collected during the Sunday offertory and throughout the week. Closed when parish offices are closed.
One of St. Bernadette’s little-known gems is the parish community garden located just past the sheds on the parish grounds. The garden is cultivated year round by volunteers who contribute the harvest to our parish food pantry. In three years, Shepherd’s Bounty has donated over 3,818 pounds — almost 2 tons! — of produce to the pantry. Approximately thirty-five families visit the food pantry each week, and we are delighted to be able to donate fresh produce to them. However, we need your help.
It’s hard to imagine being at the mercy of others to get to Mass, but that’s the case for Migrant Workers who are in our area as Guest Farmworkers. We have such a great gift right here in our Parish community to encounter Jesus in the stranger, and welcome Him as He called us to do. Please prayerfully consider the Migrant Ministry and help us ensure our Guest Farmworkers have the means to attend Mass.
